Fairfax Meadow

Derby based Fairfax Meadow, the UK’s leading catering butcher, are supporting our charity with a delivery of meat, to help us provide meals for local vulnerable people.

Thank you to Fairfax Meadow for their amazingly, generous donation, this fantastic donation is going to make a huge difference to how we can help our community. Right now we are supporting over 100 vulnerable people across Derby every day, it’s worrying times for us all. We really are reliant on the kindness of businesses and individuals and welcome donations where available.”

Penny Tomlinson, Managing Director at Fairfax Meadow, has said “We’re proud to employ so many local people, across many generations, but we also understand that these are challenging times for vulnerable people across the UK. That’s why we decided to supply a free meat delivery into Doorways Derby”.

Penny goes on to say, “We also want to support our local community during the coronavirus challenge and have decided to open a pop up shop so that the public can stock up on meat for their fridges and freezers. It’s times like this when we all need to do what we can to help each other”.

Fairfax Meadow is the UK’s leading catering butcher, however in these challenging times they have set up a retail shop at their site to supply the public. People can visit the Fairfax Meadow “pop up” shop at 6 Newmarket Drive, Derby, DE24 8SW between 10am and 6pm, from Monday to Saturday.

Thankyou for your ongoing support towards Doorways.

Access Self Storage Derby sets aside 50 square foot storage space to collect Easter Eggs for Doorways Derby.

Access Self Storage Derby has set aside a 50 square foot storage room to collect Easter Eggs for local homeless charity Doorways Derby.

Anyone wishing to take part can visit the store on Osmaston Park Road and leave a chocolate egg in reception. All donations will be given out just in time for Easter.

Mark Emerton, Access Self Storage Derby manager, has said “We are really excited to be launching our Easter appeal and for such a great local charity, Doorways Derby, which works tirelessly to support people in crisis.  We hope we can do them proud. Easter is such a tough time for those sleeping rough, so we really urge everyone to add an extra egg or two to their shopping baskets however big or small.”

We are thrilled to be beneficiaries of this year’s Easter Egg appeal. Doorways has been made possible through the generous support of all our volunteers. We are finding our services are more and more in demand so the publicity this appeal generates in spreading the word of our work across Derby is so gratefully received.

In 2019, more than 2,000 chocolate eggs were collected by Access Self Storage and shared among 16 charities across the UK and more than 7,000 chocolate eggs have been donated to dozens of UK charities since the Access Self Storage Easter Egg Appeal started nine years ago.

We are very pleased to be their chosen charity this year.

Thankyou so much for chosing Doorways.
